Missed cut in Chile
Well, the event here didn’t go exactly as I had planned. I missed the cut this week after shooting some awful scores.
Both my rounds were very inconsistent. I either hit it perfect or awful, nothing in between, signs of the rust I have to shake off. I was making birdie or double it seemed. Unlike my events over the summer; fortunately, I’m handling this missed cut 180 degrees differently.
With most of my missed cuts over the summer I was very disappointed and depressed and very negative. That attitude made it very difficult to motivate myself for the weekend off.
This week is very different. I finished my round Friday with a renewed attitude about professional golf. I had a great talk with a fellow pro out here and it really helped me dig deep and find this new part of my motivation.
I spent the entire day practicing Saturday, something I hadn’t done all year. I plan on doing the same thing tomorrow, and I’m looking forward to it a lot.
I really need to shake off the winter rust and be ready to go next week in Argentina. I’m hoping that tomorrow’s work paired with today’s will set me on a great path for next week.
